Alrighty, so I am currently in Rome after six days and five nights in London. First of all, I definitely have to thank my Auntie Laurie; she is amazing for taking me on this trip and I loved every single minute of it!
On Thursday, we started the haul to Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) to see the amazing castle and grounds. After watching the entire show, we were ready to see this extraordinary house. The house was beautiful and pristinely kept. For anyone that has watched the show, most of the scenes were filmed onsite; however, the servant’s quarters, as well as the kitchens/basement, was not filmed onsite; it was filmed in a studio. The grounds were even more exquisite than the home; the estate had gardens on site that had all kinds of imported plants and a large meadow of wildflowers. The entire estate was gorgeous and a must-see for anyone that has seen the show.
After the Princess Diana exhibit, we decided to continue exploring Kensington Palace. We got pretty bored looking at the old exhibits however we still made some fun posing with costumes, jewelry, and desks.
After that, Auntie Laurie and I went to the Tower of London where we saw the Queen’s Jewels. They were pretty cool. Centuries ago, England stole a diamond from South Africa. It is the largest diamond pretty much ever… It was pretty cool.
At this point, we were pretty exhausted from touring all week and we decided to head to the Shard. The Shard is a beautiful tall building in London where you can pretty much see all of London from above. We sat in the restaurant at the top of the building and had a bottle of rose… It was lovely. After this point, we decided to get some dinner; we went for sushi and then got back to the hotel and had one last nightcap at the hotel bar and then we went to bed to wake up early for a flight the next morning.
My trip to London was amazing. I would highly suggest the city to anyone and additionally our tour Guide Gio was amazing. But I once again have to thank Auntie Laurie, she is amazing for taking me on this trip and I thank her so much.
